Meet Susan L. Marques

" I love to paint many different subjects mainly found in nature, especially the beaches and bays, both here at home and on my travels. The ever-changing colors and patterns found outdoors never cease to amaze and inspire me.  I hope to bring a sense of peace to the viewer as I am a great believer that art heals on all levels. "

Susan is a native Long Islander who grew up in Huntington, NY and currently lives on Long Island's East End. As a child she was always expressing myself through drawing, painting, and dance; having been influenced by her mother, father, and aunt’s artistic abilities. She received a BA Degree in Fine Art.  After working for several years as a freelance artist in graphic design for Abraham & Strauss and CMP Associates, she turned my attention towards teaching, and received a Masters in Elementary Education in 1987.
